Accessibility
We want everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this site.
Draft awaiting the institute's approval
Prepared by the website team; it takes effect once the institute has reviewed and approved it.
Our target
The site is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.2 at level AA, in Arabic and in English.
What we have done
For example:
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a clear outline around the focused element and a link to skip straight to the content.
- Structured headings, lists and tables that screen readers can follow, and text alternatives for images.
- Colours with enough contrast, and no meaning carried by colour alone.
- Pages and text can be enlarged, and pages work on phone screens without sideways scrolling.
- Your device’s reduced-motion setting is respected.
- Page content is shown even without JavaScript.
- The site is checked automatically at every release, in both languages and in the light and dark themes.
Known limitations
We are working on the following:
- Some published PDF files may not be fully prepared for screen readers.
- The English translation of the site has not yet been reviewed by the institute.
- Filtering the faculty directory needs JavaScript; the full list is shown without it.
- The “page not found” page shows no content without JavaScript.
